I had a short story published by Graeme Cameron in his fabulous Polar Borealis magazine this month Issue #38 – May 2026 (Vol.10#3. WN#38)
“Today’s Special” follows the journey of Marissa, a veteran of an alien invasion, who has lost her entire family and frankly her will to live. Desperate to lessen the grief and trauma she’s dealing with, she seeks out a back alley procedure that promises her some relief.
The story is darker than what I usually write but does touch on familiar subjects such as memory, family, and grief that are featured in a lot of my work.
“Today’s Special” is free to read in PDF at Polar Borealis here. Polar Borealis #38 May 2026
It’s the second time Graeme’s published something of mine. Last time was 3 years ago in 2023 when he published “WHAT TO DO IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY BREAK THE SPACE-TIME CONTINUUM” in Polar Borealis #27 October 2023 which was much more tongue in cheek.
Polar Borealis is an award winning magazine that features Canadian writers and poets. Check it out.
