It’s been a while since the call out for Super Canucks anthology closed in late April and I am sure a lot of people that submitted are wondering when and if they will hear about their pieces.
Delays aside, I hope it comes as some comfort that NO rejections have gone out YET. Pieces are still in that Schrödinger’s cat limbo of being alive/dead. We wanted to wait until the call closed in April before we started our reading period so there was that delay and now that we’ve read them all – we have been going through the process of sorting through and prioritizing them. My co-editor Mat and I have read through all 70+ submissions and we’ve been pleasantly surprised by the mix of stories we’ve received.
We’ve been meeting with the Publisher to whittle down the selections. We are hoping to send out acceptances/rejections in the coming weeks. Thanks for your patience! I know how hard it is to wait for word on something you’ve submitted.
After that we will start working with the selected authors on edits. And to those that don’t end up being selected – take heart – many of your stories were fantastic and we wanted to take more than we had room for in this volume.
Keep writing!
